The news that Dr Chris Brown was bailing on Ten to join a rival may have broken at the worst possible time for the celebrity vet.

Chris Brown will appear beside Julia Morris on I’m a Celebrity before bailing on Ten.

The tattle behind the scenes when a big name jumps ship is always interesting with some gems always dropped as asides or in passing.

So what to make of the rumour that there was awkward timing around a Dr Chris Brown photo shoot recently.

Channel 7 trumpeted last week it had poached Brown from Ten, with Brown to swap networks in July.

Between now and his departure date he will appear on Ten’s all important reality series I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here as co-host alongside Julia Morris.

The word in TV circles is the day the news of his defection was shouted from the rooftops by Seven in a triumphant press release, Brown was on set shooting the promo pics for I’m A Celebrity.
