Experienced TV performer Georgia Love is departing Channel 7 and embarking on a surprise career change focusing on ‘good news’.
Love will leave the 7 Melbourne newsroom at the end of March to join the highly regarded storytelling agency, Enthral as a senior public relations and content manager.
She will be working across a new platform called The Good News, showcasing positive and uplifting news stories.
“I’m looking forward to putting the skills, knowledge and experience learnt from 11 years working in newsrooms into something new, while still remaining within the media industry,” Love said.
“Storytelling has always been what I love the most about being a journalist, so when the opportunity came up to work with an agency that puts storytelling first and has a strong journalistic DNA, it couldn’t have been a better fit.
“Media is such a fast-changing landscape and I’m excited to explore another facet of this industry I love so much.
“While any new job can be daunting, I feel extremely positive about this move and can’t wait to get to work and make my mark on the world of brand storytelling.”
Love was moved from a reporting round to the production desk at 7 news in September after a controversial ‘racist cat’ post on her social media account.
She apologised for the ill-considered post which was slammed as an example of casual racism.
Love was a newsreader in Tasmania before she moved into reality TV as The Bachelorette in 2016.
She married Lee Elliott in March 2021 after meeting him on the show.
Love worked as a news reporter with Channel 10 in Melbourne before joining the 7 newsroom in February 2021.
