MasterChef judge Melissa Leong appears to have mended bridges with Georgia Love over her casually racist social media post.

Georgia Love faces fallout from casually racist Instagram post

Melissa Leong and Georgia Love have buried the hatchet after a friendly catch up at Melbourne Fashion Week.

The MasterChef judge had been critical of Love back in September after the former Bachelorette’s Instagram post was viewed as “casual racism” and she apologised.

The pair crossed paths and shared a warm embrace outside the Plaza Ballroom on Monday night before the week’s highlight, a diverse and inclusive runway styled by Deni Todorovic.

“There’s never been a thing, it’s just an active discussion we all have to have,’’ Leong said.

Love said the pair had spoken a lot since her post and there are no hard feelings.

The pair were supporting their friend, designer Jason Grech, who had the showstopping collection of the show.

Leong had previously posted her disappointment about the actions of Channel 7 reporter Love who had uploaded a video on her Instagram story of a cat sitting in the window of a dumpling restaurant with the caption “shop attendant or lunch?” with a laughing emoji.

Love deleted the post and apologised for the offensive post which she intended to be a joke.

Leong said she was bummed over Love’s actions.

“Casual racism from nice people is possibly the most betraying and insidious kind,’’ she wrote.

“Not angry, just completely bummed that this video exists and that it isn’t the first joke of this kind made by her.

“Georgia, I really hope your remorse is real and that you grow in the right direction, because this stuff hurts more people, more than you think.

“We must be allies for each other for a better world for all.”

Also at the opening night of Fashion Week were comedians Joel Creasey and Em Rusciano, the Bachelorette Brooke Blurton, Channel 7 presenter Jacqui Felgate and former Miss Universe Australia Olivia Molly Rogers.
