Divorce papers, Ozempic, breast milk and a taxidermied rabbit are among the peculiar items left behind in Ubers, according to the rideshare giant’s annual Lost and Found report.
A mannequin head with human hair, a Viking drinking horn, gold teeth, Invisalign, dentures, a chainsaw, a pet turtle, a DNA testing kit, two mattresses, 15 hookahs, 10 live lobsters, yoga mats, pilates socks, sewing machine, and boiled eggs, and a total of 1.7m mobile phones were also among the bounty of treasures found left in Uber vehicles last year.
The report, which was released last week and covers lost and found items in the US, reads like a jumble sale — you name it, it was probably lost in an Uber.
Even the stars seem to have a role in people losing things. During Mercury’s April 2024 retrograde, the data showed lost items were on the rise. On one day in that month more than 7000 passengers reported lost items.
And perhaps not surprisingly, the most popular hours of the day for items to be “lost” in Ubers was between 11pm and 12am. As Uber puts it “the later the night, the looser the grip.”
According to the report the top three most commonly forgotten items were phones, wallets and keys.
