Former Geelong coach Mark “Bomber” Thompson is looking to offload his infamous Port Melbourne home.

Thompson has listed the converted warehouse at 217 Rouse Street, Port Melbourne with Peter Weda of Weda Property for an expressions of interest campaign.

Thompson, who is listed as the sole owner of the property, bought the four bedroom converted warehouse in 2010 for $1.75 million.

The home was raided by police in January 2018. Thompson once shared the home with convicted drug trafficker Thomas Windsor.

The pair smoked ice together and Thompson later telling Melbourne Magistrates Court: “He (Windsor) is a lot tougher than me … I didn’t know how to get rid of him.”

Thompson was later charged on drug matters.

He was convicted of drug possession in July 2019 and given a 12-month community corrections order along with a $3500 fine.

He has now turned to woodcraft and makes furniture and kitchen accessories made from resin and reclaimed wood.

Mr Weda said he was seeking expressions of interest for both Thompson’s property and the property next door at 215 Rouse Street which is owned by a different, unrelated party.

Interest is being sought in the two properties as a potential development site, however they could also be sold individually.

Mr Weda said there had been considerable interest in bundled properties, but also noted “five or six” people had looked at Thompson’s property with the view to purchasing it as a home.

“215 and 217 Rouse Street, they are separate owners but with the consent and engagement of both parties we are seeking expressions of interest for the properties as a development possibility or as individual offerings,” Mr Weda said.

The properties, located one block from the Port Melbourne beachfront, are described as “two unique and interesting existing buildings, each extremely presentable. A sensational development opportunity,” on the listing.
