Chart-topper Tones and I has marked the arrival of the New Year by announcing her engagement to her boyfriend of two years Jimmy Bedford.
The Dance Monkey singer, whose real name is Toni Watson, surprised fans and followers by posting a photo of her flashing a ring and kissing Bedford on her Instagram page on Saturday along with an engagement ring emoji and a love heart.
The performer, who hails from Frankston, confirmed her relationship with Bedford during a radio interview last year.
She said her partner, known as “Bedders” was a former bricklayer but now tours with her as a stage technician.
“I have actually been with my partner for a year-and-a-half now. It’s going so well. He’s just the perfect person for me,” she told Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O in July 2021.
“He was a brickie, and now he’s my stage tech. In the last year-and-a-half, he’s gone to university, studied, got his Bachelor’s.
“He comes on tour with me as my stage tech. He lives with us. He plays footy for Frankston Bombers. He’s my best friend, he’s hilarious.”
Tones and I is currently on a busking tour around Australia.
She recently performed at Carols By Candlelight at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl.
