The Hey Hey It’s Saturday bandwagon rolls on with the latest Hey Hey special confirmed as airing on Easter Sunday.

Channel 7 will air Hey Hey It’s 100 Years on Sunday, April 17, in Melbourne and Adelaide.

Just why it has the clumsy title is unclear, as is the reference to 100 years.

The show will screen in the other states at a future date.

Daryl Somers will once again helm the nostalgic special that looks back on highlights from the Hey Hey It’s Saturday archives.

It really is a case of everything old is new again.

The show will also feature a tribute to the late, great cricketer Shane Warne who passed away aged 52 in March.

Delta Goodrem will also feature in the special which was filmed several weeks ago.

The first promo for the show went to air during Seven’s footy broadcast on Saturday night.

Somers sadly announced the passing of his dear friend, mentor and creator of Hey Hey icon Ossie Ostrich, Ernie Carroll on March 30.

Two other Hey Hey specials are expected to roll out on Seven later this year.

It is not surprising that Seven has invested on the Hey Hey brand of nostalgia.

The Hey Hey It’s 50 Years special, which aired in October last year, topped two million viewers on consolidated audience figures.

Somers was most recently seen on Seven co-hosting Dancing With The Stars with Sonia Kruger.
