AFL star Adam Saad weds in joyful backyard ceremony

Essendon player Adam Saad exchanged vows with his partner Salam Mahmoud in a backyard celebration in Melbourne on Saturday.
In what looked to be a festive wedding the couple danced to traditional music with friends and family joining in.
Guests included Essendon captain Dyson Heppell and West Coast Eagle Keegan Brooksby.

AFLW and Survivor star Abbey Holmes was in attendance and took to Instagram to wish the couple well on their big day.
“Congratulations to you @asaad42 & Salam. Privileged to be a part of your super special day,” she wrote.
The bride wore a long-sleeved white dress with a delicate draped veil while the groom dressed to impress in a simple tux, black bow ties and white rose buttonhole.
The Essendon defender leads his own academy, which aims to give back to his community with the help of his club and the AFL.

“Having an academy named after you is special,” Saad said.
“I had a similar one on the Gold Coast as well and when I got traded back home to Essendon I wanted to do something again.
“It’s been a passion of mine to start up my own academy and help kids with footy development, normal education sessions and a bit of leadership sessions as well.”
Saad finished third in this year’s Essendon Best and Fairest.
