After the shock break down of her marriage and ongoing injury woes, Lauren Phillips has laid bare her “total s--- show” of a year in an emotional social media post.
The bubbly TV presenter reflected from her hospital bed last week on the past 12 months as a time when “not everything has gone my way”.
Phillips separated from her husband, Lachlan Spark, in December 2018 a year after their fairytale wedding. Not long after she underwent surgery to have her hip rebuilt, having injured it years earlier while filming a TV segment.
In the past months she has been supporting a dear friend through a period of loss and grief.
And last week she found herself back in surgery having her hip rebuilt for a second time.
“If this year has taught me anything — and it’s certainly taught me a lot — the most important is to always be grateful for what you have. Your family, your friends and your health.
“Whilst not everything has gone my way this year — to be honest it’s been a total s--- show — throughout it all, I have been constantly reminded that I really do have the best friends, family and colleagues in the world and for that I feel like the luckiest kid on earth.”
Bring on 2020.
