Fans and former cast members share tributes to Neighbours

Past and present stars of Neighbours penned emotional messages to the show Australians have loved for 37 years.

37 years of drama on Neighbours

Tributes poured in for Neighbours as Australia’s longest running soap said farewell.

With a celebratory ending, as tears flowed and storylines were left wide open, stars past and present penned emotional messages in appreciation of 37 years.

The most current cast gathered together to watch the finale — a 90 minute wrap of nostalgia, which aired on Network 10 and 10 Peach.

In Greece, Olympia Valance and her sister Holly Candy (nee Valance) sent their well wishes.

Delta Goodrem:

“Goodbye @neighbours the show has been with us all our lives, feeling emotional today that it’s ending! Thankful for the memories and all that it gave us.”

Steph McIntosh:

“Neighbours was the show you dreamed to be on and wished to be on. I think it happened at such a young age, every emotion. It was incredible, it was an actor’s dream.”

Jordy Lucas:

“Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy it happened. I loved this show since I was a little girl. Thank you Neighbours.”

“The last ever scene and take on Ramsay St. And I got to do the clapper, I think I may have only done it once before. Matty Wilson is probably the best person I have ever met. Second only to my wife. Our wedding was make believe but our partnership isn’t. So it isn’t really an ending, just the start of the next chapter in what I know will be a very long book.”

Matty Wilson:

“I’m not sad it’s going, I’m glad it happened.”

Sharon Johal:

“Bye Dipi 4evs.”

Jacinta Stapleton:

“What a trip it’s been. I am honoured to have shared this space with so many talented and special people from my time 20 years ago.”

Lucinda Cowden:

“So very grateful to be here at the end of this iconic and historic show. Thank you to all the amazing cast and crew... I love you all heaps and know that you will all live forever in my heart.”

Alan Fletcher:

“If you think about this ending and all the people who have come back... and willingly, it’s because they’re so grateful for what Neighbours gave them.”

Georgie Stone:

“It has been such a pleasure to play Mackenzie these last three years and to get to work with some incredible people in front of and behind the camera. And on a personal level, to get to play a full-fleshed out trans woman - someone whose trans experience isn’t her only character trait, but is also not erased and is in fact celebrated too - has been a downright honour.”

Olympia Valance:

“WOW. So that’s it, the last episode ever of Neighbours. What an end of an era for us all. Big love from Greece, Flick and Paige.”

Bonnie Anderson:

“WOW... so many emotions watching the final episode.... I will forever cherish our time together and I will never forget my time playing Bea.”

Ash Williams:

“It was a pleasure to play Rory Zemiro for a few months. Rory is a hard-working gay stripper with a bad back - but more importantly Rory is a businessman. I went full method for the role. And I discovered the ancient art form of ‘bacting’ - acting with only your back. It really is a beautiful art form. Well done to everyone on Neighbours cast and crew. Good fun.”

“WHAT.. A... RIDE!!! Thank you to our loyal fans, to the cast and crew who I’ve loved working with for the last 10 years. And to Jason Herbison who created Terese Willis for me! What an honour!”

Tim Kano:

“Hearts bleeding for the end of this journey with this amazing fam @neighbours.”

April Rose Pengilly:

“The hardest thing I’ve ever done, but what a wild ride.”

Annie Jones:

“Thank you Neighbours for giving me the chance to be Jane, and the opportunity to learn from so many amazing people. Forever grateful.”

Jason Donovan:

“Farewell! Thank you. ‘That’s when good neighbours become good friends’.”
