Why drive to Derby Day when you can fly like Dane Swan and Bec Judd?

CRAWLING through traffic or hiking in heels from the train station to get to Flemington was never going to be an option for these celebs, who instead opted to go via the sky. Especially for Dane Swan who had to “find other ways to get to Derby Day” after losing his licence.

Clearly the regular punters were doing it wrong — getting the chopper seems to be the way to head trackside this racing carnival.

Living the life of luxury, some of our favourite stars arrived in style at Flemington from the air.

Football legend Dane Swan found the helicopter an alternative way to get out of the city after losing his licence earlier this year for drink-driving.

Swan, who posted the photo on Instagram, said he had “gotta find other ways to get to derby day…”.

Posing with friends before the flight the Collingwood hero looked in his element.

Glamour girls Bec Judd and Jen Hawkins also flew in from the sky, posing in front of the aircraft from Southbank.

Judd, dressed in a black Maticevski number, posted snaps of the trip to her Instagram story with husband and former Carlton great Chris.

Hawkins, in her last official Derby Day for Myer, posted a catwalk video to social media of her stepping onto the luxury flight and documented snippets of her trip to the iconic race.

But it was only the lucky few who were given the royal treatment, with many-a-heels and honour taking a hit for the everyday Joe.

Now to sit back and drink cheap champagne while scrolling the social media heaven that is stardom at Spring Racing.
