TJ’s angst as awkward Bec Judd kiss footage resurfaces

Tony Jones has sent a pointed message to Mason Cox after the Collingwood star ignored an unofficial ban on posting footage of an awkward exchange with Bec Judd.

Tony Jones threat over Bec Judd

Time On is your daily wrap-up of all the footy gossip and banter.

Tony Jones was far from impressed after Collingwood star Mason Cox posted the now infamous kiss fail with Bec Judd on Instagram.

Footage of the awkward 2016 moment has been unofficially banned since Jones stormed off set of the Sunday Footy Show in 2020.

But Cox posted it on his Instagram account during the week after making light of his own awkward moment with Today show host Karl Stefanovic.

Cox was on the program and Stefanovic appeared to ignore his attempt at a handshake – a snub which Jones’ Sunday Footy Show colleagues have dubbed being “TJ’d”.

Cox posted: “Who did it better? Wait for it? While we are at it …”

Jones was miffed and reacted by holding up two fingers.

“Mason if you’re watching, I don’t know if they have this symbol in the United States, but you might know what that means … that’s the number of good games you’ve actually played.”

Jones laughed and it was all in jest with colleague Nathan Brown saying “we love you Mason”.

“We’re getting him back, you can’t show the kiss,’’ Jones said.

Jack Riewoldt could be back on the winners list in a big way this Spring.

The retired Richmond star’s horse Soulcombe stormed home to win at Caulfield on Saturday and has the Melbourne Cup in sight.

Riewoldt was trackside with his daughter and fellow owner and former teammate Tom Lynch.

“You can tell by the kit I’ve worn how I thought we’d go today,’’ he told Seven’s Jason Richardson.

“Got shorts on, casual clothes on, thought we’d come out for the first kick off of the Spring. Missed the start as usual but came home strong.”

Soulcombe part-owner, Tigers defender Nathan Broad, said: “I’d be rapt to have a horse run in the Melbourne Cup, it would be very special.”

Melbourne captain Max Gawn has revealed he’s expecting a Christmas baby with wife Jess.

The couple have an almost two year-old son, George, and Jess is 22 weeks into her second pregnancy.

“She’s been fine, dominating her way through a second pregnancy,’’ Gawn said.

“It’s due around Christmas. If we get a choice, which apparently you do in this day and age, we might try and push it a bit earlier.

“George shares his birthday with Derby Day so unfortunately he won’t see his Dad very often.”

Gawn caught up with Collingwood’s Jeremy Howe before Father’s Day to reminisce about their journeys having made their debut on the same day in 2011.

They chatted over Pepperjack’s new mid-strength Shiraz.

Dangerfield’s ‘ruthlessly competitive’ daughter showing footy promise

Geelong captain Patrick Dangerfield says there might be another footballer in the family.

Dangerfield and wife Mardi, who share three children, have both played in a premiership — his was last year and Mardi’s triumph happened last weekend with the Wammos, the Geelong Amateurs Football Womens Team.

Patrick says their four year-old Felicity is showing some good early signs.

“Flick might be the footballer in the family,’’ he said. “She’s ruthlessly competitive. We’ve not given up on (six year-old) George but he’s more of a lover than a fighter.”

The couple welcomed baby girl Winnifred last year.
