Time On is your daily wrap-up of all the footy gossip and banter.

Logies host Sam Pang returned to The Front Bar on Thursday night after a month’s break.

Pang took his place alongside Mick Molloy and Andy Maher, arriving via limo and still wearing his black tie suit.

“Four weeks holiday after three hours work,’’ Molloy said. “Laziest man in show business.”

Pang confirmed he did share a drink with TV veteran Daryl Somers after the awards night.

“In all seriousness I had a wonderful time,’’ Pang said.

“Very lovely of a legend of this industry to invite me up to his room afterwards and we had a glass of champagne. I left at 1am and it was a wonderful time.”

He added: “Me and Dickie Knee kicked on til about 5.”

Pang said he holidayed in Europe for two weeks and had a chat to actor Kurt Russell at a hotel bar.

His humorous return to the panel show came after he was back on Have You Been Paying Attention this week.

Big names missing from awards night

Some big names were missing from the AFL Awards night for good reason.

The likes of Leigh Matthews, Craig McRae, Chris Scott and Justin Leppitsch all headed north for the Brisbane Lions Hall of Fame night and to celebrate 20 years since their 2003 premiership.

Jason Akermanis said it was a super night reuniting with most of the side who were part of the incredible three-peat.

Jonathan Brown was elevated to legend status as was Simon Black.

New footy show to debut

Channel 7’s new footy analysis show, Talking Finals, is set to debut on Tuesday night.

Hosted by James Brayshaw, it also features recently retired three-time Richmond premiership captain Trent Cotchin and last year’s retired premiership captain, Geelong legend Joel Selwood.

Alongside them will be footy great and sports presenter Tim Watson, with news updates from Mitch Cleary.

We hear the show has a team of producers including executive producer Lucas Shearer plus Craig Moore, who was made redundant last year as 3AW sports boss and is now RSN breakfast producer.
