Tigers captain Trent Cotchin and his wife Brooke reveal name of newborn son

After hilarious speculation from a ex-teammate that Trent Cotchin’s newborn son was going to be named after Dustin Martin, the Tigers captain has taken to social media to reveal the real name of his third child.

Baby Cotchin No. 3 has a name.

Richmond captain Trent Cotchin and wife Brooke welcomed a bouncing baby boy to the family and have named him Parker Foxx Cotchin.

The Cotchins have posted adorable pictures on social media of their two daughters, Harper, 4, and Mackenzie, 3, meeting their brother.

Brooke posted the new baby’s name with a simple loveheart on Instagram last night.

Cotchin’s former Richmond teammate Shaun Grigg sparked a flurry of social media activity when he said on the podcast Talking Tigers the couple had named the baby after Dustin Martin.

He revealed on Twitter, though, that it was a hoax.

“It’s alleged that I may have a source who could of heard from their cousins sisters dog walker who possibly overheard that Trent and Brooke have named their newborn son Martin Cotchin. Congrats guys,” Grigg tweeted.

Martin was pictured with baby Parker this morning.

All three Cotchin children carry the middle name Foxx, which Cotchin has explained is so they will always share a name, even if their surnames change when they’re older.

“I’ve always loved kids,” Cotchin told the Herald Sun last year.

“Brooke was also keen on the idea, which is probably why we had kids younger than most people do.

“We have a lot of older friends who had kids while we were younger as well.”

Brooke gave birth on Saturday and both she and Trent posted a family picture from the hospital announce their new arrival with a caption: “There is only one true happiness in life. To love and be loved.”

In January the couple shared the happy news they were expecting their third child with a video of their two daughters revealing there is a “baby in tummy mummy”.

Brooke captioned her video: “Seven years together, five years married, two precious little souls & another little Cotchin on the way to make us a family of five. Never ending memories @trentcotchin9 #grateful.”
