“With his platform I will promote love and acceptance between all cultures,” she told Confidential.
“I am looking forward to promoting tourism especially in countries that are struggling with tourism. They are the two main things I will prioritise with this title over the next year.”
Nikol is an aspiring actor who is also studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in film production at Macquarie University.
To win the pageant, she competed in various categories, including swimwear, evening gowns, national costumes and casual wear.
For national costume, her dress was inspired by the Sydney Opera House.
“When I first got into pageantry I had that mindset that it is all about external and physical beauty but once you go into it, I quickly understood that is completely not true,” she said.
“It is all about using the platform that the pageant gives you to send a message to society.”
Looking at the Australian tourism industry, Nikol urged visitors to see the Great Barrier Reef.
“The fact that it is one of the most celebrated tourism destinations in the entire world and for it to be right now decreasing in size for numerous reasons I think not only should it continue to be preserved but I do feel everyone should come and visit the reef.”
