Shock amount Jane Fonda was paid to tell Melb crowd Trump is ‘a f**ker’
Hollywood legend Jane Fonda came to Melbourne and let it all hang out, revealing secrets about her body, sex and her hatred for Donald Trump. But she also shopped — here’s where she stayed and paid.

For a rumoured appearance fee of close to $300,000, Fonda did not hold back, even if a pesky cold wanted to get at that signature voice.
After a little shopping jaunt down the top end of Collins St staying in diplomatic suite at the Grand Hyatt to get over jet lag, Fonda talked for hours, first with a meet and greet of fans and later mostly over the top of interviewer Liz Hayes as she discussed sex scenes with Jon Voight — wishing she had an intimacy co-ordinator “that was tough” — to her now non-existent sex life: “I’ve closed up shop due to flooding”.
The Oscar winning actor, activist trailblazer and former aerobics queen gave it her all to the 1000 plus crowd of mostly women hollering her name in a standing ovation.
At an age when she doesn’t care less if she let it all hang out she shared stories from skinny dipping with Greta Garbo as a teenager and later Michael Jackson “under the moonlight” in the 80s to getting stonkered with Dolly Parton down south.
The crowd had first been given a half-hour guided mediation at The Plenary as part of former Swisse Vitamins CEO Radek Sali’s Wanderlust talkfest of which Fonda was special guest. Fans later took home a bottle of Sali’s Mushroom Oil supplements, with some hoping the buzz from Fonda might keep going.
But it was Fonda’s call to arms which was perhaps most stirring. Calling Trump “that fu —er” she said it was up to us, the crowd and people right now to make a difference, drawing on her activism from speaking out against the Vietnam War and dubbed Hanoi Jane, to being jailed more recently in her 80s for non violence civil disobedience – “It feels so good to be arrested” – during rallies championing for climate action.
“I’ve spent my life fighting for what I believe in.”
“F--- those neoliberals and fascists and people who don’t move to love. We have to move to love and empathy.”
And with that Jane Fonda exited the building, but not before calling US president Donald Trump “that fuc —er”.
