Shane Warne’s family marks cricket legend’s first birthday since his death
Days after marking the first Father’s Day since Shane Warne’s death, his grieving family is commemorating another sad milestone.

Shane Warne’s first birthday since his passing has been marked with a post from his social media account.
Alluding to the cricket legend’s legacy living on, the tribute was made on the morning of the beloved Melburnian’s 53rd birthday.
“A legacy gives you a perspective on what’s important,” the caption read.
“It is about the richness of an individual’s life, including what they accomplished and the impact they had on people and places.
“Shane’s legacy will live on. Happy birthday – always in our hearts.”
The post featuring the famous picture of Warne dipping his hat on the playing field, ended with three white love hearts.
The spin king passed away on March 4 after a sudden heart attack in Thailand.
His three children, Brooke, Jackson and Summer, each paid tribute to their beloved dad with heartfelt posts on Father’s Day last week.
Jackson shared the last image taken with his dad, writing: “This was the last photo we ever took together.”
“24.2.2022. Doing something we both loved. Playing poker. Miss ya mate. Happy Father’s Day.”
In March, the new Shane Warne Stand at the MCG was unveiled during Warne’s touching state memorial.
On the night, attended by over 55,000 people, there were performances played from Robbie Williams, Elton John, Ed Sheeran and Chris Martin, along with a string of tributes including from the likes of Hugh Jackman, Kylie Minogue and Greg Norman.
