Shane Warne has reached many milestones over his colourful and illustrious career.
But one of them is set to hit him for six.
The spin king is turning 50 on September 13 and the thought of raising his bat bowls him over.
“I’m old,’’ he said. “Fifty, I’m like geez, I can’t believe I’m 50.
“It only seems like yesterday I was playing cricket for Australia and going to England and the Ashes and World Cups and that was a long time ago now.
“I’ve been retired from international cricket for 12 or 13 years.”
While Warne is in shock over his stats he is also happy, slim, fit and “extremely single”.
The father of three, who was just back home this week to launch his new apparel line SW23, has lost 14kg via traditional Chinese medicine and training.
“I’m really happy, probably the fittest I’ve been for a long, long time,’’ he said.
“The kids are great. Business is really good. I’m enjoying my commentary and the cricket stuff I’m doing.
“I’m very single, extremely single. I’m good.”
Renowned as a party boy, who has also dated English glamour Elizabeth Hurley, Warne is in good celebrity company turning 50. Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston, Cate Blanchett, Jay-Z, Matthew McConaughey, Jason Priestley, Matthew Perry and more are all that age this year.
Warne intends to mark the occasion in trademark style.
“There’s probably two parties I’ll have — the one with some friends and there’ll be the family PG-rated one.
“Maybe a dozen good mates, we’ll get out amongst it and have a bit of fun.”
On the day of his birthday Warne will be in England commentating on the Ashes so his parties will be here in October.
As for a gift, he is hoping his Brighton mansion sells, with a rumoured price tag of about $8 million.
He bought the lavish European-style home last year for $5.4 million and after renovating it he is looking for a change.
He said he had not yet bought into Tim Gurner’s ultra-luxury Saint Moritz development in St Kilda.
“I haven’t treated myself yet, so I’ve got to buy myself something special and hopefully someone will buy my house,’’ he said.
“I’m looking at something different. I don’t know yet (about Saint Moritz). I’m looking at some stuff down in Portsea, and at some apartments. I’m looking at change.

“One more year and then (my daughter) Summer finishes school and all three kids have finished (school) so it’s a lot more easy for all of us to get around.
“The kids get annoyed and say ‘Dad, can’t we just stay here we really like this house’.
“This house (for sale) is awesome. It’s got its own theatre. I’ve built a nightclub/bar area.
“I spent a bit too much money on it but it’s a great family home, entertaining home, it’s got family space, a great man cave, boys’ area for a few beers and that too. I’ve done this one well.
“I might have to buy another one and do it up. I love doing it. I’ve done a few houses now and done OK with them.”
