Sandilands and Ray Hadley ‘losing the war’ against backyard ducks

They’ve forked out hard cash for fake croc heads, moth balls, even wire animals but nothing Kyle Sandilands and Ray Hadley seem to do can win the war waging in their backyards.

How to negotiate a million dollar wage

SHOCK jocks Kyle Sandilands and Ray Hadley have both found themselves at the mercy of duck infestations that they are convinced will send them mad.

Kiis FM’s Sandilands and 2GB’s Hadley have discovered they have more in common than a fat pay cheque and barbed tongues.

Sandilands got Hadley on his breakfast show this morning to lament over their problem and share solutions.

“Ray’s got the exact same problem at his place that I’ve had to undergo at my place,,” Sandilands told co-host Jackie O.

“What’s that?”

“A duck infestation,” he answered, “Ducks have taken up residence in Ray Hadley’s pool.”

At his wit’s end, Hadley detailed all the amusing measures he had taken to rid the ducks from his pool including wire animals and floating crocodile heads.

“It’s presented itself about four years in a row,” a baffled Hadley explained.

“I’ve tried everything. I’ve gone to Bunnings and bought wire animals. Someone phoned me a month ago and said ‘have you put moth balls on the wire animals? They don’t like the smell.’

“Then on eBay I found open-mouthed crocodile heads that float, got half a dozen. Well the ducks crapped on their heads.

“Now today, this is the last roll of the dice, apparently there’s some automated spray that you can buy at a hardware store and it’s got a sensor so when the duck comes into the pool, it sprays water on them. I would have thought given ducks are into water they would be impervious to the water you spray on them. I share your pain Kyle.”

Desperate for a solution, Hadley asked Sandilands how he got rid of his ducks.

“I didn’t. The ducks won,” Sandilands responded.

“I gave up. My pool slowly just went green and murky, the filters collapsed, the paint started peeling off.”

Luckily the duck’s tenancy is temporary, leaving toward the end of winter.
