Newman was only hours into his stopover in LA when he walked into a spiral staircase in his loft apartment at the Ramada West Hollywood.

His head hit the stairs with such force that he was left with a bloody gash on his forehead, as well as being dazed and confused.
“Well what a great way to start off the trip of a lifetime — it was nearly over before it began. At least I got to see Disneyland for a minute there,’’ Newman said.
Newman refused treatment but eventually relented and applied an ice pack to the lump.
He was then well enough to attend a “Welcome to LA, Sam” party where he caught up with his friends, Nicky Whelan and Curtis Stone.
He also ventured to Venice Beach for an edition of Street Talk along with Shane Crawford.
The Footy Show will cross live to Newman at the Masters this Thursday night.
He also sits down with colourful golfer, John Daly.
