Sam Newman took on the roles of chief waiter and boat driver to host the cast of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
In footage and pictures captured by his good friend Shane Crawford, Newman was filmed pouring shots of Fireball whisky for the musical’s stars on board his 66-foot yacht named Angst.
Crawford who played the part of Pharaoh during the Melbourne season initiated the fun gathering.
“It was the Monday after the show closed and we had a fantastic time,’’ Newman said.
“Really lovely people, all of them. A nice diverse range of society.
“Shane led the charge in merriment and revelry and it was a great day.”
Crawford posted about the party with the caption: “Sam not only drives the boat he’s the waiter as well.”
Newman has nothing but praise for his former The Footy Show colleague.
“Whenever I speak about Shane I have to say it’s an absolute travesty of justice that he was never made Australian of the Year,’’ he said.
“It was a selfless act to cycle across the country to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer.”
Newman has hosted many wild gatherings on board his yacht including the time over a year ago that rocker Brian Mannix ended up in hospital with a bloodied face and arm.
Guests on board in rocky seas that day included Warwick Capper and Ricky Nixon.
