Former Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield says she refuses to go public about several incidents of sexual assault because her attackers are violent and wealthy.

Chatfield, a former property analyst, told the Brains Trust podcast in LiSTNR she’d been sexually assaulted “more than once in varying degrees.”

She added: “I think most women have, most women that I know have had something a bit off centre. We talk about it (in private) with our girlfriends, and we get collectively triggered.”

Asked why she won’t go public about being a victim of sexual assault, Chatfield replied: “One of the people that did something really f---ed, he is a very aggressive, angry person, and I would be scared to say anything publicly about him.

“The other has a lot of money, and could come for me,” Chatfield said.

“Another one was when I was a bit younger, and people would say I was lying.”

Chatfield also opened up about her time in the real estate industry and claimed she encountered incidents of sexism and racism.

She said she was “paid $30,000 less” than her male colleagues despite having the same, or superior, qualifications.

“My title was analyst-slash-admin,” she said. “I had a degree in economics, and another guy was an analyst, and didn’t have to do admin. I had two jobs and I got 30 grand less.”

“I had to do things like set up morning teas and get told to wear lipstick to meetings. It was f---king infuriating, and blatant sexism.”

She also said claimed some workers used the “n-word in the office,” adding: “I begged them to stop and I cried. They said, ‘She’s being emotional.’”

Chatfield said her co-workers supporter her push for pay parity.

“They’d be like. ‘You deserve to earn what we’re earning.’ True allies,” she said.

However, at her performance review, Chatfield said she was criticised for occasionally not wearing make up to work.

Chatfield also claimed the company refused to give her extra training because “ they didn’t want me to learn what they’d learnt because I’ll steal their contacts because I’m young and pretty.

“It was f---ing awful,” she added.

Chatfield said she was “assumed” to be “dumb, unless proven otherwise.”

She added: “I feel men, in these industries, are assumed they know everything, unless proven otherwise. It it’s proven otherwise, it’s some woman’s fault.

“Women have to be above and beyond.”

Chatfield rose to fame after appearing on The Bachelor in 2019.

She also won I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here earlier this year.
