Former Domain boss Antony Catalano and his wife Stefanie have bought a lavish off-the-plan St Kilda penthouse for a record-smashing $30 million.
The double-storey pad will sit atop one of the buildings in developer Tim Gurner’s Saint Moritz project on the waterfront site of the former Novotel Hotel.
It will feature seven bedrooms, four living rooms, two pools, a 1000-bottle wine cellar, and a two-storey cascading water feature.

Marble-clad walls, a sauna, gym, private seven-car garage, direct lift access, a floating fireplace and a bathtub with 180-degree water views will also grace the pad.
A source close to the deal told Confidential: “The family already lives in the area, the kids grew up there, and they know, and enjoy, the hustle and bustle of St Kilda.
“They won’t be going far when they finally move into this extraordinary property, only a few hundred metres, but they are looking forward to a substantial upgrade in amenities.”
Those luxuries include a valet, concierge, dry cleaning service, personal driver, a library, residents-only bar, round-the-clock security and a health and wellness sanctuary with
15 treatment rooms.
Mr Catalano and his family currently live at Victoria Mansion on Beaconsfield Parade, a four-storey, eight bedroom Victorian terrace home that was built in 1861.
A source said the family would live on two levels at the Saint Moritz property, with
Mr Catalano and Stefanie on one floor and the children upstairs.
Mr Gurner said he had “no intention of selling” the prized penthouse until a proposed June launch, but was swamped with interested buyers.
Mr Catalano and Stefanie visited the display home twice late last year.
The $30 million price tag beat Melbourne’s previous $25 million benchmark, set in 2015 by the penthouse in Southbank’s Australia 108 building.
