POLICE were called to the luxury St Kilda home of former Fairfax executive Antony Catalano last week after he was involved in a confrontation with his wife.

Sources close to the investigation told the Herald Sun that a number of police cars attended Mr Catalano’s St Kilda home on Friday morning last week, following a triple-0 call.

It is believed that Mr Catalano and wife Stefanie argued in the couple’s St Kilda mansion, and the argument became physical just after 9am.

Police were then called. Mr Catalano accompanied officers to the St Kilda police station. But despite calling police, Ms Catalano denied to them that any incident had occurred.

“Police were called to a house in … St Kilda about 9.50am on Friday, October 12, following reports of an assault involving a 51-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both from St Kilda,’’ Victoria Police’s Kelly Grindley said.

“The man accompanied police to St Kilda police station. He was released pending further inquiries.

“A statement of no further police action was made to police. Police are currently making further inquiries.

“The investigation is continuing.”

Contacted by the Herald Sun, Mr Catalano denied the incident.

“You need to go and get your facts right,” he said.

“We’re all very happy.

“We don’t know what you’re talking about.

“We’re all good.

“We’re all fine.”
