Geelong star Jeremy Cameron’s week just got bigger with the premiership forward announcing he’s expecting his first child with partner Indiana Putra.
Cameron, who provided the laughs on grand final morning when one of his cows ran away with his premiership medal, shared the happy news he will become a father on social media on Thursday.
“Just because this week wasn’t big enough … we are very excited to share our little secret. Bubba due March 2023 – couldn’t be happier!!” he wrote.
Putra, a standout on Brownlow Medal night in a Pink Silvana Tedesco gown, is the sister of Jasmine Griffen, married to former Bulldogs and GWS star Ryan Griffen. She wrote: “MOM & DAD – little bebe arriving March 2023.”
Cameron was also a highlight of the Cats’ Mad Monday celebrations after coming dressed as a chicken. It was in tribute to his chicken which finally laid eggs, and he also admitted after a couple of big nights he had to sleep in the chicken coop.
The cow video went viral when Cameron posted it to social media.
“We’ve done something very silly here”, he can be heard saying sometime around 4am.
“Umm, can I have my medal back …?
But the Cow hard other plans and disappeared into the dark paddock.
Cameron conceded: “Let him have it for the night. Go on, enjoy it! It’s for all of us.”
Cameron also told the story of how he gained the cows in exchange for a couple of grand final tickets, and how those same cows nearly derailed his preparations on Friday night.
“It was a bit of a swap, yeah,” he told Triple M on Sunday.
“I had a mate who was pretty excited to come to the game so a bit of a swap for a few cows which was nice.
“He calls me at 9 o’clock: ‘I’ve missed the turn, I’m 10 minutes from your house, I’m bogged on the side of the road because I tried to do a U-turn with the trailer on.
“I had to go pull him out which wasn’t a great prep. I got back about 10 o’clock, had to unload the cows of course because we weren’t going to leave them in the trailer and I’m thinking this is bad prep for a Grand Final.”
Cameron assured everyone that no cows were harmed in the process.
