Collingwood veteran Jeremy Howe has had a unique and joyful preparation for the team’s first game of the season after the birth of his second child.
In a perfectly timed arrival, Howe and wife Kahlia welcomed their son, Saxon Cruz Howe, 24 hours before today’s opening round against GWS.
On adorable pictures posted to Instagram, Kahlia, an event manager and influencer, wrote: “My boys … How did I get so lucky.”
The couple welcomed their first son, Zander, in August 2021.
In the black and white images Zander is captured cradling his newborn brother while dad Jeremy is all smiles holding his son.
“Cuddles with Daddy before he’s off to Sydney,’’ Kahlia added.
Last week ahead of the match Howe told AFL 360 he was confident the birth would be ahead of the game.
“Kahlia has been amazing through the whole process and it looks like he will be born before I have to jet off to Sydney for 24 hours,’’ he said.
“We’ve got my mother-in-law down for a short period of time to give us a chop out when needed, which we’ll be leaning on there for some advice and help, no doubt.”
The Howes, who married five years ago, revealed in September they were expanding their brood with Zander holding an ultrasound with a caption: “I’m going to be a big brother.”
