Carlton star Patrick Cripps says he’ll be more nervous on his wedding night than he was on Brownlow night.
Cripps is due to tie the knot with long-time love Monique Fontana in December.
“It’s tough as captain of the team,’’ he said.
“I’ve invited a fair few (teammates). I’ve had a lot of players throughout my journey so there’s a lot of past players coming as well. There’s about 200 people on the guest list, so it’s going to be a big wedding. I’ve got a massive family and so does Mon. A lot of her friends back home will enjoy the night. I was nervous on Brownlow night but I think I’ll be more nervous on the wedding night.”
The couple’s wedding is due to be held in WA where the couple spent much of the off-season near Cripps’ family farm.
He proposed in March.
“Done and dusted,” Cripps wrote on social media.
Fontana, who is studying vet technology, posted the same picture as Cripps with the caption: “FOREVAAAA”.
The pair were inundated with messages of congratulations.
Fontana this week paid tribute to Cripps after his Brownlow win. The gun midfielder told the crowd at the Carbine Club Grand Final Luncheon that the special achievement was still sinking in.
Fontana said: “So very proud of rictor and all he has achieved throughout his career.
“One of the most motivated, dedicated, and kind hearted people I know. What a whirlwind of a few days, still cannot believe it! Thanks everyone for your kind messages and support, you all are the best xxxx GO RICKKKK.”
