Olympia Valance drops Hollywood hunk for footy ruckman

She’s a footy WAG on TV and now Olympia Valance has revealed she’s dating an AFL ruckman for real. And it turns out there are a lot of parrallels between the two.

She plays a feisty footy WAG on screen and now actor Olympia Valance is dating an AFL footballer in real life.

Valance, who stars as Tahlia Woods in Ten’s footy drama Playing For Keeps, has confirmed she is dating Essendon ruckman Tom Bellchambers.

“It’s kind of like life imitating art. Quite comical,” Valance told Confidential.

“Who would have thought. It’s funny because I don’t know, it can’t really help (for my role) but a lot of things we did in the show last season are quite factual.

“I’ve been going to a lot of football games and I guess it’s not nearly as dramatic as we made out in the show. But there are definitely parallels.”

Valance and Bellchambers stepped out in Sydney on Tuesday night at a Moet & Chandon event. On her social media she posted a love heart with a picture of the couple.

“It is quite new and there’s not a lot to share apart from I’m incredibly happy at the moment,” she said.

“We’ve got quite a few mutual friends.”

Valance had been dating LA based actor Luke Bracey at the start of this year.

Today she has transformed her look for the second series of Playing for Keeps which begins filming next week.

She made her hair lighter with L’Oréal Professionnel’s French Balyage + Gloss technique.

“I’ve got Tahlia’s iconic bangs back and have got a more evolved look,” she said.

“It’s more of a sweeping bangs look and it’s much lighter. I wanted to get this transformation done before we start shooting.”

Valance said she would be filming in Melbourne for the next 3-4 months.

“It’s perfect. I moved closer to the city this year so we’re shooting more around the area that I live which makes my life easier,” she said.

“I can literally walk to sets around Melbourne in this role.

“I read the first and second script and it’s definitely going to suck everyone in.

“There’s a lot more drama and it’s far more explosive than last year if that’s possible.”
