Neighbours heart-throb Scott McGregor is staying quiet after a glassing incident at a Gold Coast strip club.
“It is going to court so I can’t really comment,” McGregor told Confidential when contacted yesterday.
A female stripper has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm after allegedly attacking the actor at the Hollywood Showgirls club in Surfers Paradise earlier this month.
Police say McGregor, who married actor and model Bianka Voight in January, was at the popular Orchid Ave club in the early hours of April 6 when he got into a “verbal altercation” with the dancer, 25, whose stage name was “Ivy”.
She allegedly picked up a glass “in a fit of rage” and threw it at McGregor, 38, hitting him in the face.
The Melbourne-based actor and father allegedly suffered a cut lip and went to the neighbouring Surfers Paradise police station to report the incident. Police called paramedics, who took him to a medical centre for treatment to a 1cm laceration to his lip.
The stripper is scheduled to appear in Southport Magistrates Court next month.
Hollywood owner Craig Duffy said the stripper had been sacked on the spot.
“I know a conversation took place between the two of them (McGregor and the stripper), but I’m not privy to what was said,” Duffy said.
“I don’t know if he said something wrong or she said something wrong.
“But regardless of what was said … we terminated the dancer immediately. She is banned from the club.
“People need to feel safe going into venues.”
Duffy said that one of his managers tried to contact McGregor to make sure he was OK and let him know the stripper had been sacked.
“If he wants to come back, he’s more than welcome,” Mr Duffy said.
McGregor’s management did not respond to a request for comment by deadline.
McGregor stars as “hot cop” detective Mark Brennan on Channel 10’s long-running soap Neighbours.
A former model on the game show Temptation, McGregor also appeared in Underbelly and Offspring and hosted motoring show Blood, Sweat and Gears.
He became engaged to Voight in 2016 and they had their first child, Evie, in 2017. The couple wed at a lakeside ceremony in January.
