Moana Hope and wife Isabella Carlstrom are expecting their first baby.
The former AFLW player and Australian Survivor star announced the happy news after the couple had gone through three unsuccessful IVF treatments.
Isabella is 13 weeks pregnant.
“Bell and I are incredibly grateful to share our exciting news,” Hope told the Herald Sun.
“This has been a dream of ours for a while now and we are over the moon it has finally come true. We cannot wait to meet this little person in November and join our family.”
The loved-up couple revealed they had a sperm donor late last year after they got married in August.
Hope said in March this year: “We have not been successful a couple of times which is normal; it is completely normal. We reset after every time we give it a go and then we try again.”
Model Carlstrom proposed to Hope at her father’s gravesite in October 2018. They exchanged their vows in front of 100 family and friends at a lavish mansion in Toorak.
Hope, the former Collingwood and North Melbourne AFLW player, decided to step away from footy to focus on starting a family.
Hope said having a reliable income was more important than playing footy at this stage of her life.
“I love footy but it’s either quit my job (and) play footy, or quit footy and do my job and right now my job pays the bills,’’ Hope told the Herald Sun.
Hope, 32, was one of 14 children and is the primary care giver to her disabled sister Vinny.
At their wedding, she and Carlstrom presented Vinny with a special ring to signify that they would always look after her.
