Mia Fevola wants to make an impression in a different field as she turns her focus from fashion to psychology.
The make up artist and influencer started her label MALLT Collective in 2020 but is broadening her interests from business.
“I love fashion and seeing all the trends but I’ve started a new degree in psychology and I’m really focusing on that right now, so it’s hard to do both,’’ Mia said.
“Compared to doing business I’m liking it so much more.
“I’ve always been really interested in psych in school but wasn’t sure of it as a career so I did business because it was more broad but then I realised that I actually didn’t really like business that much.
“I did a psych unit within my business degree and I’ve decided I want to do child psychology. It’s dealing not so much with mental health but more so learning disabilities and behavioural problems in children. That suits me a lot better and hopefully that’s the plan.”
Mia and her mum Alex Fevola, who founded Runway Room cosmetics, are stepping out for a mother-daughter date night at Melbourne Fashion Week.
The pair will attend Sunday night’s Collins Dome closing runway presented by Vogue American Express Fashion Night Out.
“It appears as though, touch wood, we’ve seen the back of the pandemic and it’s great to see events going ahead and people thriving again,’’ Alex said.
“People are excited by fashion. For so long we were just in tracksuits so it’s great to get dressed up and glammed again.”
The MFW closing runway will also feature a performance from award-winning singer and ambassador Thelma Plum.
Mia wears a Torannce dress and Narvi jewellery; Alex wears an Aje dress and Narvi jewellery.
