Max Gawn is hoping to pick up a handy Christmas present after making the move to Blairgowrie.
The Melbourne Football Club captain has put the first home he bought in East Bentleigh on the market with an auction date set for December 19.
“After coming back from the hub it was the perfect place to be down the coast,’’ Gawn said.
“I assume it’ll get incredibly busy come summer but at the moment it’s the right time.
“I’m not too market savvy but just hoping for the best deal and a nice little Christmas present. If it’s anything like The Block I’ll be happy.”
Gawn said he and wife Jessica had done some work on the two bedroom, two bathroom and two car garage townhouse at 20 Watt Street which is being sold by Oren Flamm of Hodges Caulfield.
“I got sick of looking at the garden so I did some work on that,’’ Gawn said.
“It’s not far from bayside and a lot of people try to get near there.
“And it’s near McKinnon High School so it’ll be in the new zone which will help as well.”
Gawn said he’ll be back at pre-season training around January 6, but expects a few Demons teammates to join him in making the sea change.
“I’ve been bragging about it so a few other boys might join us down here,’’ he said.
