Melbourne Cup champion jockey Mark Zahra partied the night away with wife Elyse and friends after claiming his second successive victory in the race that stops a nation.

Melbourne Cup winning jockey Mark Zahra partied the night away at The Osborne in South Yarra.

After claiming his second successive victory in the race that stops a nation aboard Without a Fight, Zahra and wife Elyse kicked on with friends including champion international hoop Frankie Dettori.

Also at the venue were the Richmond players who are part-owners in second placed stayer Soulcombe.

Vinny Diaco, Nick Russian and Nathan Cleary at Bar Bambi.

Model Kris Smith was also there along with trainer Ciaron Maher.

Across town at Bar Bambi the party was going strong with Nick and Daniel Russian hosting many Cup Day guests.

Nathan Cleary, dating Matildas star Mary Fowler, was also there as Sweet Mix Kids played.

Cup Week festivities continue on Wednesday with the VRC Kennedy Oaks Lunch at Crown.

Hosted by Tara Rushton and Kris Smith, guests include the nieces of the late Princess Diana, Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza Spencer, along with Melbourne Cup Carnival ambassadors and sporting superstars Liz Watson and Cortnee Vine, Paralympian Emma Booth, Olympian Amanda Ross and guests including Mia and Alex Fevola.

Performers are Kate Ceberano and Sneaky Sound System.
