Kylie Brown undergoes 10th surgery for endometriosis

Footy legend Jonathan Brown says he’s so proud of his wife Kylie’s bravery after she underwent her 10th surgery to tackle a painful health condition that afflicts many women.

Footy great Jonathan Brown has praised his wife Kylie for her bravery in battling endometriosis.

Brown was by Kylie’s side as she underwent her 10th laparoscopy late last month for the condition known as Endo, in which cells similar to the lining of the uterus, or endometrium, grow outside the uterus.

“It’s frustrating as a condition they haven’t made many advances,’’ the Fox Footy commentator said.

“I’m so proud of Kyles for doing what she does and bringing attention to it for girls who suffer from it. The common misconception is that childbirth kills it. Kyles is battling a bit but she’s recovering and it’s been handy to be at home.”

Brown, who finished up on breakfast radio is working this year on Fox Footy as a commentator and a member of on On The Couch, and is also part of the popular Browny’s Podcast alongside Campbell Brown and host Dean ‘Deano’ Thomas.

Kylie has been strong and outspoken in helping other women via her Endo Runner social media page.

She has run multiple marathons to raise funds and awareness.

After her latest surgery the courageous mum of three shared her struggles in her most honest and real posts.

“I have never been so vocal and honest about my real struggles but this surgery and endo awareness month has really made me realise, although only small, I have a great platform here,’’ Kylie wrote.

“And I promise to do all I can to help spread the word.

“I know some friends are worried about me mentally and I understand and appreciate that. I have dealt with this relentless disease for 27 years and I do hide so much. But I am exhausted and we need to do more.”

Kylie said she was indundated with responses.

“I hope that made my endo tribe feel a little less alone because it certainly did for me,’’ she wrote.

“I take something from every person who has ever written to me.”
