Kyle and Jackie O’s Melbourne invasion has been dealt another blow with the show falling to a new low in the latest radio ratings survey.
The program dipped to a 5.2 per cent audience share, its lowest result since launching in Melbourne in late April.
The latest result was also down from a 6.1 per cent audience share the high-profile duo notched up in the previous ratings survey.
FOX FM’s Fifi, Fev and Nick topped the FM charge claiming 10 per cent of the audience, with previous leaders NOVA’s Jase and Lauren on 9.6 per cent and GOLD FM’s Christian O’Connell holding firm on 8.3 per cent.
Smoothfm accounted for 7.6 per cent and Triple M on 5.4 per cent.
While Kyle and Jackie O have failed to win over Melbourne, the pair remain the top-rating breakfast show in Sydney with a 13.7 per cent market share.
The show’s failure to gain traction in Melbourne would come as a big concern with rumours Adelaide and Brisbane could be next on the expansion radar.
Kyle Sandilands had predicted the show, which has been slammed for its crude content, would be number one in Melbourne by the end of the year.
Elsewhere in survey, 3AW’s Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft extended their breakfast dominance to 22.5 per cent, while the ABC’s breakfast host Sammy J went down from 8.2 per cent to 7 per cent.
In the Mornings segment, the ABC’s Rafael Epstein fell from 7.3 per cent to 5.8 per cent.
The ABC’s Afternoons and Drive programs also lost ground, falling 0.8 per cent and 0.9 per cent respectively.
Tom Elliott on 3AW Mornings was well in front with a 17.8 per cent audience share.
GOLD FM (10.5 per cent) and FOX FM (10.4 per cent) continue to jostle for the lead in Drive, with Smoothfm rising to third place (9.8 per cent) and Triple M’s Rush Hour lifting to 9.1 per cent alongside 3AW’s Jacqui Felgate also on 9.1 per cent.
SEN’s Gerard Whateley had a 0.3 gain to 3.9 per cent while breakfast remained the same on 4.1 per cent.
