Former AFL star Jobe Watson and partner Virginia Slaghekke are set to be special guests at this year’s Caulfield Cup carnival.
Watson is looking forward to introducing the former Dutch model, who has never been to the races, to the sport and the more glamorous side of racing.
“I haven’t been for about 10 years and I’m looking forward to taking Virginia,” Jobe says.
Parents to almost one-year-old daughter Juniper, the couple is also excited to have an excuse to dress up and have a fun day out together.
“I’ve never been to the races before so it’s going to be very exciting. It’s one of the highlights of Melbourne, but it’s very foreign to me so it sounds quite exotic,” Slaghekke says.
Watson and Slaghekke have been invited as special guests in keeping with the New York City theme for the carnival.
