Collingwood Hall of Famer Dane Swan has urged his great mate Dustin Martin to do what’s right for him.

The former star midfielder says he hasn’t yet planned a post-season trip with the Tigers great but is well aware of speculation swirling about Martin’s future after his 300th match two weeks ago.

“Your guess is as good as mine,’’ Swan said.

“When we are together I don’t like to ask him those things. He’s at training this week so I assume he’ll play.

“I think the world would know so that mail was obviously wrong. I just want what’s best for Dustin, if that’s playing one more game and finishing on 301, or playing another three years at Richmond or moving to the Gold Coast ... it’s what’s best for him.

“I just try to leave him alone as much as I can and not ask because then I don’t need to lie to anyone.”

Swan, who was elevated into the Australian Football Hall of Fame last week, is back to work after the long night of celebrations.

A co-owner of two venues, The Union Hotel and The Osborne, he filmed a commercial on Tuesday for Houdini Plumbing, who have made big strides in the electrical heat pump space and who have also engaged footy legends Sam Newman and Wayne Carey.

“My life hasn’t changed much,’’ Swan said.

“The next day or so when we got home I sat on the couch and (my partner) Taylor was doing all the cleaning up and I said I’m a Hall of Famer now, I don’t do that kind of stuff.

“She called me some things you probably can’t print so I promptly got up and helped with the housework.

“It was nice to get everyone together. That’s what I enjoyed most about it.”
