Melbourne influencer and former Big Brother contestant Tully Smyth has divided her followers after saying she hopes to catch Covid from her boyfriend who tested positive.

Despite testing negative herself, Smyth has decided to move in with partner Daniel Parisi.

“After much anxiety and deliberation (I literally called 3 people to ask their opinion) I’ve decided to pack my stuff and move in for the week to hopefully catch it sooner rather than later,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Chances are I already have it and by coming here and isolating, I’m less likely to give it to my housemate.

“Appreciate there is a chance I isolate and still don’t get it however a) I’d rather take my luck and both of us have it at the same time than get it later and put us back into iso for another week, missing weddings etc and b) be here to look after him. Appreciate everyone has their opinion and I’m not even sure this is the right way to play it but it’s a weird time and we’re all just doing what we think is best.”

Smyth stopped by Hungry Jacks for a “pit stop” and in a video of the pair with her suitcase in hand, she wrote: “we’re in this together”.

The reality star, who appeared on Big Brother in 2013, was then forced to defend her decision in a series of Instagram stories to her 203k followers.

She is double vaccinated and has rescheduled her booster which was due over the coming days.

“I do not in the slightest think it’s “cool” to get Covid,” she wrote.

“In fact I’m very anxious about it. Like everyone else, I’ve spent the last 2+ years doing everything in my power trying to avoid it. However unfortunately, my partner was already positive so it’s not looking good for me.”

She added: “I fully appreciate how hard it is to track down a RAT, I spent the last 3 days driving around town so please don’t blow up my DMs. I get it.”

Smyth then vowed to take a break from her phone, writing: “I am MORE than capable of being away from him for 7 days. We’re very independent people who like our alone time.

“I’m not sure if it’s “right” decision but it’s the one I made because it seemed like the best option, predominately (sic) for my housemate.”
