Geelong star Mitch Duncan and wife Demi pregnant, expecting fourth baby

Geelong player Mitch Duncan and wife Demi have announced they’re pregnant again, with the star explaining his shock when he heard the news.

Geelong premiership star Mitch Duncan and wife Demi are expecting their fourth baby.

Duncan said he was in shock when he found out the news but is now excited to be expanding their family.

Mitch and Demi are parents to Scarlet, 6, Ollie, 3 and Archie, 1.

“It’s our news … we are having another baby,’’ Demi said on her Missta Mums podcast.

Mitch said: “Found out 6-7 weeks ago, slipped one through to the keeper. I came home one day from training, Demi’s like I’m going to film a TikTok, which I never get involved in.

“You’ve just got to stand there for three seconds with your eyes closed and I did that, and in her hand there were a couple of pregnancy tests and they were positive.

“I was just in shock and she started laughing and I was like what are you laughing at, which I feel very guilty for now. But it was obviously a massive shock and always kind of thought (we are) three and done. Three beautiful kids and now we’re going to have four and really excited for what’s to come.”

Mitch said it took a few days to sink in but the couple are excited to add to their “chaos” and welcome another child in April next year.

“We literally just had to digest,’’ Demi said. “We had the best and fairest and I’d hit the 13-week mark and it was exciting to tell people then.

“Nothing actually scares me right now. If anything I am already saying to myself this is going to be an easier adjustment than I had with Archie.”

She added: “This wasn’t a case of my period was late or I had any symptoms, there was none of the above. I was at day 45 and Mitch was like will you do a pregnancy test and I was like yeah. Not for one second (did I think I was pregnant) because we had been quite careful.

“I just said if a fourth was to happen then that was meant to be.”

Demi, who co-founded Missta Baby Thermos, and Mitch, 32, said they were mindful of others who had struggled to conceive.

He had been thinking about getting a vasectomy during the off-season.

Mitch said: “Coming out of the newborn stage with the near two-year-old, life is probably getting a bit easier.

“Then you come back to having a newborn and (we’re) starting that phase again. Now that I think about it again, really excited,” he said.

“There’s many people that struggle to be in the position we’re in and fortunately we have a big enough house, car is big enough … why not bring another joy to the world. Really excited.”
