There has been plenty of movement in radio land over the ‘off-season’ and as most teams return to work today, here is a snapshot of the comings and goings.
3AW
The changes have been numerous at 3AW, starting in September when long-time Nightline presenter Philip Brady ended his reign along with producer Simon Owens.
Plenty of eyebrows were raised when Denis Walter was taken off afternoons and switched to nights.
It was announced later in December that Dee Dee Dunleavy was taking over and she started in that role last week.
Australia Overnight hosts Tony Moclair and Bianca Johnston were also axed recently, following the sacking late last year of 3AW Weekend Overnight presenter Alan Pearsall.
Nightline has been replaced by 3AW Nights, which debuts today.
Brady and Owens still host the 3AW show Remember When on Sunday nights.
ABC
At ABC Radio breakfast hosts Sami Shah and Jacinta Parsons have been replaced by comedian Sammy J.
Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann is no longer co-hosting Grandstand.
TRIPLE M
Triple M’s Hot Breakfast returned today with just Eddie McGuire and Luke Darcy as hosts, after the departure of Wil Anderson.
They will have rotating guests.
Rush Hour hosted by James Brayshaw and Billy Brownless will also move timeslots to 6pm-7pm.
NOVA
Radio personality Matt Tilley departed Nova after just seven months while Kate, Tim and Marty will now start at 3pm opposed to FOX’s Tommy Little and Carrie Bickmore.
