Former AFL player Daniel Gorringe has been confirmed as a contestant on the reboot of Big Brother.
Gorringe played with the Gold Coast Suns and Carlton and has since been working in real estate.
Now Melbourne based, the self-titled “big tall class clown” shows a good sense of humour in the Channel 7 promo.
“The thing about footy is you gotta be able to get the ball and I just couldn’t get the ball.... so I got sacked,’’ he said.
“It’s funny now but I do feel bad for the footy clubs that picked me up.”
Gorringe, 27, says he hopes his individuality will keep him in the game long enough to win $250,000.
“I don’t think there is another funny weirdo like me anywhere,” he said.
After six years off TV, Big Brother returns with a new set of rules.
For the first time the housemates will nominate and evict each other from the house.
There is no confirmed date for the premiere, but Channel 7 has indicated it is less than five weeks away.
