Footy’s new love match between Mia Fevola and Jamarra Ugle-Hagan is the subject of vile abuse

Mia Fevola has had the final say against vile trolls who targeted her after posting a picture with her new AFL partner.

Mia Fevola unveils new romance with Bulldogs rookie Jamarra Ugle-Hagan

Footy’s newest young love match has become the subject of vile abuse on social media, after Mia Fevola and the Bulldogs’ no.1 draft pick Jamarra Ugle-Hagan stepped up their romance following a holiday together in Queensland.

Their blossoming relationship and newfound happiness has copped heavy trolling, with disgusting “slut shaming” comments being left on Fevola’s Instagram post of the couple on Monday night.

The young couple went public with their relationship last week, and spent time together in Port Douglas at the weekend — the final weekend before the new AFL season begins.

Fevola, 21, posted a picture of herself with Ugle-Hagan, 18, captioned with a love heart and a raft of unacceptable and sexist comments were posted on it.

Fevola herself posted one of her follower’s retorts in her Instagram story that read: “@jtwalsh95 wow we’re slut shaming now, today of all days where hundreds & thousands of women across the nation marched for the right to be safe wherever they are & with whomever they are with, be it on a social scale or professional, this is precisely the toxic masculinity & culture we’re up against, you should be a shame (sic) of yourself for this comment.”

Another follower wrote: “The hate comments on here from so many narrow minded fools is beyond me!! This is the reason women don’t feel safe in Australia as we are all judged by disrespectful fools!”

Ugle-Hagan posted a picture of him and sun kissed Fevola, 21, with the word ‘Fortunate’ and a love heart at the weekend. He first posted the pair together last week with a love heart.

They also posted pictures of themselves by the pool and riding bikes as they enjoyed their time in the warmer climate up north before returning on Sunday.

Fevola, daughter of former AFL star Brendan and Runway Room founder Alex, started her own fashion label MALLT collective last year.

She posted three days ago sunbaking by the pool in a bikini with the caption “Happy place” to which radio broadcaster Brendan cheekily responded: “Thanks for the invite”.

Fevola has more than 135,000 followers on Instagram.

The student and make up artist was previously in a two-year relationship with Richmond triple premiership player Daniel Rioli, and the pair broke up in February last year.

Ugle-Hagan was picked up by the Bulldogs in the 2020 AFL Draft and the teenage tall forward has already attracted comparisons to Swans superstar Buddy Franklin.

He was left out of the Bulldogs practice match side late last month and is set to wait a bit longer to make his debut to build his fitness.

Rioli confirmed his new relationship with Paris Lawrence, a young DJ from Sydney, last month.

The Western Bulldogs take on Collingwood on Friday in the AFL’s first round of matches.
