Dale Thomas’ season just got a lot more exciting after revealing he’s expecting a baby with wife Tash.
The former footy star and Channel 7 commentator revealed the happy news about his new recruit on Monday night.
“Tash and I could not be happier to be welcoming our baby into the world in August,’’ Thomas told the Herald Sun.
“Last year started with the high of our wedding and ended with this fantastic news.
“Telling loved ones over the Christmas period made for some wonderful memories and some brilliant reactions, and we will treasure this forever.
“This next chapter has us both so excited.”
Thomas, who played 258 games for Collingwood and Carlton, including the 2010 premiership with the Magpies, also spared a thought for those doing it tough.
“As happy as we are to be sharing this great personal news, we also want to acknowledge and send big love and thoughts to those who are still waiting for their baby joy,’’ he said.
“We appreciate how difficult and sensitive it can be.”
Thomas has had a busy off-season preparing to join the Friday night commentary team on Seven and new show The Agenda Setters alongside his nemesis Kane Cornes, as well as returning to radio on Triple M.
He and Tash married in February last year in a stunning ceremony in country Victoria, at Mount William Station.
Thomas isn’t the only one with baby news at Seven, with commentator and host Abbey Holmes revealing on January 1 that she’s expecting her first child with husband Keegan Brooksby.
