Ed Sheeran has been linked to another prestige property in Mt Macedon.
Locals in the area suggest the British chart-topping musician has bought the property owned by Deutsche Bank Australia chairman Clive Smith.
The property, which sold for $3 million in 2007, is close to the Mt Macedon Hotel.
Last year Sheeran’s name was also linked to a different Macedon property, the $9 million Cameron Lodge, however nothing came of those rumours.
Sheeran has been busy increasing his reported $100 million real estate portfolio in the past two years, after amassing $300 million from his music career.
The 28 year old has spent time in Mt Macedon, staying at the home of his friend and Australian promoter Michael Gudinski.
Sheeran also performed on the area’s key tourist landmark, Hanging Rock, as part of a radio show in 2017.
During his six months off music in 2016, Sheeran went walkabout in the area while staying with Gudinski.
“I legitimately got lost at Hanging Rock,” Sheeran told the Herald Sun at the time. “I was wandering around, like it was Picnic at Hanging Rock.”
The musician has purchased a string of adjoining properties in his home town Suffolk which have been dubbed Sheeranville.

The ‘compound’ contains a recording studio as well as a bar with an underground entry.
Sheeran also owns a Notting Hill restaurant and a luxury flat in London.
His latest record, No. 6 Collaborations Project, is No. 1 in Australia this week, his fourth consecutive chart topper. He has sold over 1.5 million albums in Australia alone, and his stadium tour of Australia and New Zealand last year broke records when he sold over one million tickets on one single tour.
