Danielle Hardwick, the ex-wife of Richmond coach Damien Hardwick, is starting a new initiative to help showcase aspiring artists.
The mum of three is creating a new venture called Ms Hardwick + Co and is on a mission to be a mentor and support Indigenous education.
“I am developing a platform mshardwickco, on Instagram to start, to give exposure and promote original pieces of art by young aspiring artists, some Indigenous along with current established artists,’’ Hardwick said.
“I’m hoping the art will help educate clients through some Indigenous storytelling.
“This will tie in with my ambassador role for Need A Tutor. This company I have a personal passion for as they support Indigenous education. Education gives all individuals the power to make informed decisions with their lives.
“Both these endeavours are built on my personal life philosophies of integrity, being dignified along with using resources to have a voice where it’s most important.”
Hardwick has unveiled a logo and has already attracted significant interest with a passion to help as she sets about moving on with purpose following her split last year from the Tigers premiership coach.
Need a Tutor provides accessible and equitable educational support for those disadvantaged, marginalised or isolated.
In May Hardwick stepped out at an Indigenous scholarships program, by Melbourne security company Dominance, which will provide scholarship opportunities for 20 Indigenous Australians over the next year.
“It was definitely inspiring,” Danielle told organisers of the event. “I am passionate about reconciliation … and I admire people who act on, rather than talk, about how they can support the Indigenous community.”
She attended the program launch at Fed Square alongside high-profile supporters including AFL legends Nicky Winmar and Dean Rioli.
The Hardwicks separated after a long term marriage and his new relationship with a club staffer emerged in January.
