Glamorous Simone Elliott has vowed to keep it real as a new Housewife of Melbourne, saying she’s not here for the cattiness on the hit reality show.

Glamorous Real Housewives of Melbourne newcomer Simone Elliott doesn’t need to fake it to make it.

The businesswoman and mum of two says when it comes to the popular Foxtel series, what you see from her is what you get.

“I loved filming, it was a chance to dress up, get together with the girls and have a few drinks,’’ Elliott told the Confidential at Penfolds Victoria Derby Day webcast.

“I went into this going, ‘I just want to have a lot of fun. I don’t need to have any drama, I want to have a great time and connect with a whole group of women and I think I did that.

“I knew what I was walking into. The camera doesn’t lie, you’re recording the whole time you’re there, even when you go to the bathroom. You’ve got to represent yourself how you are. What you’ll see from me … I don’t need to fake it, I don’t need to talk myself up … what you see is what you get.”

Elliott said she had been asked how she handles the drama and how she manages to always up the ante with her outfits.

“I’m getting so many people asking me about the fashion,’’ she said.

“So many people say, ‘You’ve really dialled up the glamour, we’ve never seen it at that level’.

“I wanted to bring Australian labels to the forefront because this is the show that’s seen around the world. Everyone is asking about my hair and my looks: ‘Why do you change your hair so many times?’ I have it in a bob, or really long, but it’s great to mix it up.

“Also (I get asked), ‘how do you deal with the bitchiness and cattiness and the comments?’.”

On this week’s episode, the Housewives are on a trip in Queensland, with Elliott at the centre of drama.

She has spoken of her heartbreak after a recent relationship ended but she has yet to find a new man.

“I don’t really get approached,’’ she said. “I kind of get the gay vote. I feel like I’ve got this great gay following, which is fantastic. I’m a bit light on, not many takers.”

Real Housewives of Melbourne is on 8.30pm Sundays on Foxtel.
