Brown flew to Argentina on Friday and has met up with friends, including former footballer Tony Woods, to tackle the summit elevation of nearly 7000 metres.

Comedian and radio host Tommy Little was due to be with the group but stayed behind after the death of his close friend, pilot Stephen Gale.

“We’re at one of the seven summits we’re going to try to attempt to climb,’’ Brown said.

“There are strong winds up to 110km/h so we hope it dies down or it won’t be possible to summit. We’re ready to rock and roll. Climb or die baby, see you at the top.”

Mt Aconcagua is the highest mountain in the Americas, the highest outside Asia, and the highest in both the Western Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere with a summit elevation of 6961m.

It is said to be much tougher than Kilimanjaro.

Brown’s quest to conquer the mountain comes after his recent split from wife Jess after 10 years of marriage.

They have three young sons — the most recent, Bailey, was born in August.

Brown, 40, who also co-hosts Browny’s Podcast with Jonathan Brown, played more than 200 AFL games and won a premiership with Hawthorn in 2008.
