Christian radio co-hosts Lucy Holmes and Kel McWilliam have tied the knot after revealing their romance last month.
Theatre star and Kylie Minogue impersonator Holmes on Tuesday morning announced she had married her best friend, who she wakes up with on The Light at 89.9FM, formerly known as the Christian Radio Network.
“So … this happened!” Holmes posted on social media, sharing a quote from Nora Ephron.
“When you realise you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”
Holmes, who has served on air as breakfast host for 13 years, also shared a quote from Jane Austen: “My heart is, and always will be, yours.”
She then quoted Emily Bronte: “Whatever souls are made of, his and mine are the same.”
The married couple, whose show Lucy and Kel preaches positivity, posed for pictures in the city and outside Melbourne institution Pellegrini’s.
Last month Holmes shared news of their real-life love.
“I have some wonderful news I’ve been wanting to share, and now feels like the right time,” Holmes posted.
“Through those long months of curfews and isolation and keeping each other company every morning, laughing at the most ridiculous things on air, we realised our friendship of 14 years ran deeper than we imagined.
“So quietly and slowly, we started seeing each other.”
It’s believed McWilliam’s marriage ended recently. Holmes was once married to Derek Bailey and recently resolved a legal dispute over her right to perform her Kylie tribute show.
