Geelong great Billy Brownless will have footy and racing on his mind this weekend.
He will be part of Triple M’s Saturday Rub before flying to Sydney to watch his horse Steel City race in the $5m Golden Slipper.
The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained filly jumped into contention with a dominant front-running win in the Group 3 Magic Night Stakes.
“It’s really exciting and great to be involved,’’ Brownless said. “I only have 2.5 per cent but it’s solid and she’s racing well. No other footballers are in this one.”
Brownless stepped out on Tuesday at Foxtel’s new restaurant experience coined ‘Forkaye’, where fine-dining meets footy fandom in celebration of Fox Footy’s 4K Ultra HD viewing experience which is available every game of every round for the first time.
The pop up at Bells Hotel with a menu by chef Matthew Butcher was launched with Fox Footy host Sarah Jones and expert analyst David King, along with Fox Footy General Manager Michael Neill, discussing the upcoming season.
“There’s truly no better way to watch a match than with an ultimate pub feed with a twist, in good company. The experience ‘Forkaye’ delivers is unmatched,’’ Jones said.
Also at Bells Hotel with a footy inspired menu by chef Matthew Butcher, were Demons great David Neitz, RSN radio host Daniel Harford plus The Marty Sheargold Show’s Will Ralston and Loren Barry and Browny’s Podcast host Dean ‘Deano’ Thomas.
