AUSTRALIA’s self-declared “No. 1 party boy”, Shane Warne wants to rub shoulders with one of the world’s most popular party girls, Paris Hilton.
Hilton arrived in Melbourne late on Wednesday night and was the special guest at a party at Crown’s Club 23 tonight.
“Australia’s No. 1 party boy would like to meet her,’’ Warne said today, ahead of her arrival.
“We’ve got mutual friends but we’ve never had the chance to meet. It’s exciting she’s in town.”
Warne said he had hoped to meet the heiress at tonight’s party but he could not make it because of other business commitments.
DJ APPEARANCES: Paris jets into Melbourne
Partying with Hilton would be the latest in a string of celebrity liaisons for Warne, who, while a contestant on I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Outta Here! admitted he wanted to meet Carmen Electra.
Australians remember Hilton well after her last appearance in Melbourne over the Spring Racing Carnival in 2003.
She was partying with her sister, Nicky, and didn’t hide her affection for singer and actor Rob Mills.
Hilton yesterday said she was in the mood to party but was here for work. She attended a lunch in the city yesterday for the EO Victoria Entrepreneurs’ Organisation, and has DJ commitments in Melbourne on Friday, Sydney on the weekend and then Brisbane, before flying out.
She posed for selfies with waiting fans and was generous with her time. When asked who she was looking forward to catching up with, Hilton simply replied: “My best friend, Cheyenne Tozzi.”
She told the Herald Sun: “I’m so excited. I was here for New Year’s a few years ago over in Sydney (but) Melbourne, I haven’t been here since I was here for Derby (Day), which was a lot of fun.
“I love Australia. I love the people, I love everything about it. The energy here is amazing, the people are so lovely.
“I love animals. If I have time I’m definitely going back to the zoo because it was so much fun holding the little koalas and little wallabies.
“It was so adorable.”
The former reality TV star, 35, is also here to promote her new fragrance, Gold Rush, in Chemist Warehouse.
